Immigration

We are all immigrants to the united states. Immigrants are always welcome to the united states.

Just at least try not to be "illegal"

Also "immigrants" doesn't always just refer to "Mexican" there are lots of other countries on this planet.

Whatever we grant the Mexican immigration-lobby, we in all fairness need to grant to all other immigrants.

There's worry we couldn't afford that, simply not enough jobs of any quality  (Why would anyone strive to come here then just work at McDonalds forever?)

Perhaps we should set a tentative limit of what we think we can manage and then open the gates?

Go until that limit is met then stop and re-evaluate?  Quite possibly the limit might not be met after the initial backlog of entrances is handled.

America is also not that attractive to everybody!  There's probably Americans that would head elsewhere if other countries would open up like we want to.  Canadians and europeans aren't beating down the fence to come here either, perhaps they are already in a better place than us?

Possibly if the US opened up our immigration, other countries would follow too.  I'm thinking far less restrictions on international movement would only benefit in the long run.  Might get rid of much of that "us vs them" mentality the world seems to be stuck in.

It would probably be a troublesome transition period though before we lost that method of thought.
